Surprises on a dry meadow

We were on a Pogostemon erectus meadow today. It seems strange to look for aquarium plants on an extremely dry meadow, but our guide told us that we could find some there. And really, within a few meters, we found numerous Rotala growth forms with partly interesting dwarfism.

We also found an, at first glance unimpressive and somewhat similar to a Juncus, plant with round and hollow stalks. This habit, which is still unknown to the aquatics, grows during the dry season and shows its true beauty submersed. In which they resemble the Eichornia azurea. We will test this new discovered plant in our aquariums – that’s for sure!
